I have been using the Astral Green Jacket as my main PFD for well over a year now and I love it. The features and its low profile make it ideal for a range of water based activities.
I am always on the look out for new kit/bargains and have picked up a limited edition version from the USA. No normally I have found that products from wherever they are sourced are actually the same. With the Astral Green Jacket this is not the case.
My European version has a side entry system with QR buckles on the wearer’s right hand side.
The US Ltd edition does not have the QR fitted but has adjustable buckles (black in images below). In all likelihood this is due to the requirements for PFD design in the US. Personally I find the QR feature to be a very good one as putting on and taking off the PFD with QR system is far easier.
