Darren Clarkson-King is pleased to announce the publicaton of a new book – Beautiful Blue. This one is unique in the world of kayaking linking poems & prose to describe descents of the Tsarap Chu in Ladakh India.
In the high Himalayas, in Little Tibet, the Tsarap Chu cuts through the steep sided gorges. It cuts a course toward the Zanskar at Padum and then the Indus before flowing its path all the way to Pakistan. It is a special river – one of isolation away from the highway. In time this will change. In time the remote monastic community at Phugtal/Phuktal will no longer be cut off as trails and jeeps venture ever onward.
This small yet concise book is the collection of thoughts that occurred during numerous descents of the river – for over a decade I have been kayaking on the Tsarap Chu and Zanskar in Ladakh. The beautiful blue river always enchanting.
Read these words with hope that adventures are all around, buy that flight, journey, embrace it all.
