Here is another GoPro Kayak Mount designed and executed by Laurie Clark. It’s a great looking professional set up. It’s been built (mainly) from bits and bobs you would find in B&Q (DIY Superstore). The main components are 40mm ABS waste pipe plus associated fittings.

What is that first piece shown callled? Also how tall did you make your mount?
The 1st piece is a custom cut piece of metal to replace the grab handle and provide the platform for the mount.
Is there a way that I could get the dimensions of that custom cut metal piece?
I’ll see what I can do.
Can you remember what the plastic components used in this were called?
They are all standard plumbing parts. All can be picked up from B&Q or similar. B&Q have racks of bits for plumbing and you just pick out the required bits.
Well copied the design. Not going to give it a paint job. Going to cover it in stickers from my collection. Here is my blog article about mine mainly for the pictures. I’m happy with the results the mount produces.

Looks great.
Are you able to dimensions of the base plate you made?
I would be better to be flexible. I could see that hanging on stuff in an upside down situation.
