The second edition of GoPro’s The Frame Mount has seen a fair bit of use over the last few months and probably a great deal more use than with the first edition frame.

The Frame Mount

The new frame allows the camera (with/without bacpac) to be placed in the frame without having to undo the main bolt. The previous version came with two different frames that would be selected for use depending on whether or not you were using a bacpac.

Unsponsored The Frame Mount

The frame tightens onto the camera housing via a QR latch at the top of unit. It is super easy to use and has been faultless.

The kit also comes with a lens protector which makes sense given that the frame doesn’t offer any real form of protection for the camera. All of the covers are accessible and you can even swap over a battery on the Hero 3 or Hero 3+ without removing the camera unit from the frame.

Unsponsored The Frame Mount

The unit will happily work with any camera from the 3 series upwards excluding the new Hero camera (grey) which cannot be removed from its housing.
