The Sweet Protection Sabrosa Dry Top has landed here at Unsponsored HQ. This may well be an exclusive, it’s not even on the Sweet Protection website yet. It would be fair to say that I have been waiting sometime for Sweet to put a short sleeved paddle top into production and it’s finally here.
I think that originally the Sabrosa was not designed to be a full on dry top and was billed as a spray top. However on arrival at Unsponsored HQ it is clear the the Sabrosa is a full on short sleeve dry top. It even states it on the swing tag.
The neck and bicep gaskets are a twin affair with both a latex and neoprene gaskets in place.
The twin waist is very deep and has a good amount of adjustment.
This is the same system used on the entire range of paddling tops from Sweet so I know that it will be up to the job. The Sabrosa is constructed from Gore-Tex Paclite so it’s both breathable and light weight for warmer weather paddling.
There are quite a few seams on the top but it has been very well put together and is extremely well shaped. The top shown here is a size large and fits me really well.
There is even a little hanger loop so that you can dry your Sabrosa off in between days on the water.
The Sabrosa is available in blue and this red/orange that Sweet call Cyclops Orange. I quite like it.
The Sabrosa will be available very shortly.
Hi
Is it the same sizing than the Supernova drytop ?
Yes. I wear a large in both. Neck seal seems the same.
Thx
And about the gasket on the arms ?
Hard to say as they are on a biceps rather than wrist. Proportional sizing.
Of course
Thx
Hi,
Old post I know but wondered how you rated this in the end – reviews are hard to find!
Absolutely spot on. It is my go to top if the weather conditions are right.
Thank you!
So if it was between this one and the Palm Combi where there’s the option of adding extra arms for a bit more warmth, would you stick with the Sabrosa?

A tough call. By adding extra warmth with sleeves you may make the latex seals of the Sweet redundant depending on how you did it. In terms of seals and breathability I’d say the Sweet just has it. However the cost is sig higher. If not on sale you could get a full palm one and the shorty for almost the same price as the full rrp Sweet.
Ok. If you could get a Sabrosa for £150 or the Peak Combi with removable arms for the same price?
I’d personally go Sabrosa.
Thanks!
Appears I’m smack dab in the middle of the medium and the large. I’m 5’11” and about 172 pounds. Broader shoulders but I like for my stuff to be form fitting but obviously not restrictive when paddling.
Curious about your stats since you are wearing the large.
Thanks in advance
6’2” and 190.
