GoPro Hero 4 Session – Review

The new GoPro Hero 4 Session landed at Unsponsored HQ almost six months ago. After pretty regular use (more than my GoPro Hero 4 Black edition) it is now time to review. The Session is GoPro’s latest POV action camera and the first to break away from what has been a fairly standard GoPro cuboid shape.

When I purchased the Session the RRP was well over £300. We’ve had a fair bit of time with the camera so it is now time for the GoPro Hero 4 Session – Review.

Within this review I have mixed in some screenshots taken from some 1080p footage filmed with the Session 4 on a very overcast and challenging light condition kind of day.

Here is everything you need to know about the new 2015 GoPro Hero4 Session.

The Session marks a shift from the GoPro format that we have been used to since its first arrival many years ago. The Session is a much smaller format and is not dependent on a housing for its 10m (33ft) waterproofing. Gone are the two buttons (only one now) and in is a smart dual microphone system designed for better sound pickup in even the harshest of conditions.

For the last few years GoPro have updated their range of POV action cameras each and every autumn. 2014 is no exception with the release of the new GoPro 4. Now I am in the fortunate position of being able to get hold of newly released gear pretty quickly so have had a fair bit of time with the Hero 4 black edition as well as owning a Hero 3+ black edition for a year. My cameras spend most of their time hooked up to either a Sweet Strutter kayak helmet or the kayak itself.
