Rick Franken started Bomber Gear in 1992 with one goal in mind, to create innovative gear that was warm, dry, and comfortable. His passion for paddling and creating the best products in the world fueled Bomber Gear for 23 years.

As a company, we’ve weathered changes and have celebrated as our global paddling community pushed the limits of paddlesports. We are mindful of that heritage, and as we reflect on Rick’s incredible legacy, we announce today the difficult decision to cease production and distribution of Bomber Gear in 2016.

Yak Teams Up With Blue And White

Yak are delighted to announce that from 1st January 2015 Blue and White GmbH, the leading European distributor for paddle sports equipment, will be distributing the Yak brand in the German speaking area of Europe. This follows the presentation of the highly acclaimed new range of products from Yak at Paddle Expo 2014, which caused great excitement amongst the paddlers at the show.
On display were the new vibrant Whitewater, Touring and Recreational ranges, giving a taste of what to expect for the 2015 season, including a variety of buoyancy aids, cags and accessories.

Another great run down from the guys at Rapid Media. This time a look at Bomber gear’s new dry suit and in particular their use of the neoshell material from Polartec. I used Bomber gear kit many years ago and loved it so am looking forward to trying this new bit of kit out later in the year.

Confluence Watersports Become Confluence Outdoor

Confluence Watersports is the parent group that a number of big US brands belong to including Dagger and Wavesport. They have announced that they have been accuired by J.H Whitney a private equity firm and will now be known as Confluence Outdoor.
