Today has been a big day in the POV camera world with both GoPro and Nikon announcing new cameras. GoPro have updated the Session (and the price as well – £179.99) and have released the new Hero 5 and Session 5.
The Hero 5 Session takes on the same form factor as the Hero 4 Session but has greater video and still image abilities. It will retail at £249.99 in the UK.
Dale Mears has put this clever little GoPro above and below water housing together that is perfect for getting those 50/50 underwater/overwater shots that are often seen online.
The Nikon AW110 has been my main on the water camera for the last few years. Many of the images on the site have been taken with this camera or a Nikon DSLR (D5100 or D7100). I had previously used a Sony TX10 with great success but it was getting a little long in the tooth and technology had moved on.
The Nikon AW110 is now around 3 years old and things have moved on with Nikon releasing the AW130 a few months back. However after using the AW110 for so long and the price reducing so significantly I thought many readers of Unsponsored would be keen to find out more about this rugged point and shoot camera.
The GoPro blackout housing is one of GoPro’s latest accessory release. The case is based on the same form factor as the Hero 3+ housing so will fit both the Hero 3 and Hero 3+.
GoPro have launched a new matt black special OPs type housing for the GoPro 3 and 3+. The idea is that it gives the camera a more covert look and won’t grab the attention of those who may be caught while you are out filming.
