We have a Whetman Equipment Bait Ring winging its way to Unsponsored HQ.
This 12mm aluminium ring has an internal diameter of 45mm and a minimum breaking strength of 25kN.
It is also UK made.
The 12mm thick ring provides lower friction for the exiting harness should the user activate a release. Usually an exit occurs with the Live Bait line at an acute angle to the swimmer which can cause bunching up the harness and affect its ability to easily slide out; the Bait Rings reduces this effect and so improves the ability of the harness to slide out and fully release the swimmer.
