Face Gear Bag |

Relatively
expensive, but worth every penny. This is a serious piece of
kit, made out of heavy duty PU coated nylon with a cordura base.
I currently own an 80L model which is more than capable of storing
an entire set of winter paddling kit, inc. throw bags etc, etc...
Probably no different to many other bags except carrying all
that kit can be a pain. The NF bag comes with two well padded
rugsack type straps which allows the bag to worn rugsack style.
This is extremely comfortable as the bag molds to the shape
of your back.
A standard set of carry handles and hauling handles either end
compliment the set up. In addition compression straps are provided
either side just in case. Inside the bag is a mesh pocket on
the inner of the lid with a deep set of pockets situated at
both ends of the main compartment. The build quality of the
bag is second to none with all seams double stitched and bound.
This also makes the seams pretty waterproof although they are
not taped. I have had no problems with excess water from soaked
kit getting out of the bag.
My bag has survived three years of constant abuse and airline
baggage handlers with no significant sign of wear. The only
real negative I have ever found with this bag is the price,
but they do say you get what you pay for.
North Face have also brought out the new Water Duffelo - designed
specifically for water sports.
