System X have been importing Bomber equipment from the States for some time and the Hydrology cag plays a big part in UK sales. The cag is made from 1.5 oz opaque urethane coating on 200 denier nylon. Re-enforcements on arms and elbows with 400 denier nylon give added protection in the key wear areas. As with all other Bomber dry cags the Hydrology utilises the Volcanic Gasket Protector System™ and Vault Water Lock Waist Band™. Which basically means the latex neck and wrist seals are protected by an outer neoprene seal and it has a double waist! The outer waist seal is similar to the velcro system used on Palm Rivertec cags with two velcro strips that pull the waist in tight. In addition to this there is a shock cord system around the hem for an additional seal. The inner waist is extra long and offers optimal protection. The cut of the cag has been designed with movement in mind and whilst being used I have never thought the cag to be restrictive in any way. For the fashion conscience the cag comes in two colours, foam as shown here or orange and sports a series of reflective strips on the arms and around the neck seal. Perfect for those road crossings during midnight bandit runs.
I have used the cag on several occasion's and have been impressed with both its cut and build quality. After many rolls and being dumped on by countless ocean waves I am yet to experience any leaks. The cag keeps me dry and along with its effective double waist seal has kept water from shooting down the top of my spray deck. Without a doubt the cag meets its function well, is comfortable to wear and with its high build quality I'd expect it to last many seasons.
