The
PeakUK freestyle deck is now in its 2nd reincarnations,
and now sports some nifty white decals that double as
protection for the neoprene. The deck is made from high
quality, heavy duty neoprene. Decks are pretty much of
a muchness when you get into this end of the market with
very similar high quality materials being used throughout.
This particular model comes in various deck sizes ranging
from Riot/Necky fit up to Keyhole (P3). As well as the
white rubberised decals on the outside the deck is also
coated with rubber in the areas where it is contact with
the edge of the cockpit. The freestyle model also comes
equipped with a "Dry Lip" which helps the overall
seal against the boat. The difference comes in the fit
- both on the body and the boat.
The waist size is pretty critical as this can be the major
point of water leakage . This deck comes in two waist
sizes S/M and L/XL. Obviously if you are at either extreme
of these sizes the fit may not be ideal. However I would
only be really worried if the waist was not tight enough
and as a result too much water was getting in.
I have owned the first version of this deck for a number
of years and it has been hammered. Other than a little
bit of fading the deck is as good as new, and as a result
is highly recommended.
