Decided to mix it up a bit and go somewhere none of us had been in a while. If you haven’t gone out on a whim lately, I totally recommend it.
A little recap from this weekends Greenings with two of my favorite boats the LiquidLogic Stinger and LiquidLogic Flying Squirrel. Was also lucky enough to get my personal first longboat decent of Gorilla.
I had a bit of time today so had a go at modifying my two throw lines. I much prefer the clean rope principle where the end of the throw line that you keep hold of is a clean piece of rope i.e. has no knots or tubing.

The second modification I carried out was the removal of the tubing from the bag end of the line and the reduction in the size of the loop. The idea is that the loop is big enough to clip a karabiner into but is far too small to get a hand stuck.
Excited to be back paddling and back on the Green after suffering a rib injury before the Green Race. This time though, things are a bit different. Picked up a new LiquidLogic Flying Squirrel and man is this thing sweet. It’s got so much speed and glide to it, it just makes running the Green that much cooler.

It’s been a few years since Palm release a basic PFD. The Palm Equipment Alpha PFD is exactly that, a no frills back to basics PFD that is also ICF approved so can be used by paddlers in whitewater slalom.
