Owning a carbon frame bike does have its issues. The main one after cost is how do you carry the bike on a car without clamping onto the frame. In the UK the choice is fairly limited and centres around two main roof mounted solutions. The first is the Yakima Highroad that we are looking at here and the second is the Thule UpRide.
Yakima Highroad Bike Rack – Review
Both of these systems clamp onto the front wheel/tyre and have no contact with the frame . As frame designs have progressed, some MTB frames have a lower shock position, being able to clamp a bike securely (carbon or not) has become more difficult.

The NEW Liquidlogic Powerslide – A speed machine with slalom roots & half slice chops.
The NEW Liquidlogic Powerslide
If you enjoy speed, carving turns, surfing, and skipping out of drops while working your way downriver, this is the boat for you. The Powerslide’s slalom-influenced stern, with its low-rocker profile propels you downstream, upstream and through ferries and banks eddy turns at high speed. Subtle kick rocker just behind the seat delivers the ability to carve through S turns and across currents to slide onto glassy, catch-on-the-fly waves with ease. That’s where the chines kick in with a silky, carving, deliciously loose feeling. Like in many modern slalom boats, we’ve cut the stern low for quick easy pivots during downstream maneuvering and for lifting the bow up into tall stern stalls and splats.
Through the middle, we narrowed the Powerslide to help maintain glide through the water. That slenderness gives the cockpit a comfortable yet performance-snug feel so that you can transition from edge to edge easily while carving around. The hull is flat, wide and hard chined, which keeps it up and spinning on the surface of the water. As in all boats these days, we added a generous amount of bow rocker to keep you popping up out of drops and skipping downstream. By combining the speed and maneuverability of modern slalom kayaks with a playful planing hull and modern bow rocker we’ve created a boat that will give you the power to redefine how you paddle rivers.
If you were boating in the late 1990s or early 2000s you were probably paddling a full-slice kayak. The reality is many of us have continued to paddle full-slices long after they were being made. But as with most things if you hold on long enough a design will come back around with an update.
Enter the Nova, the younger sibling of the Super Nova, boasting a design that promises top-tier performance and unforgettable adventures. Drawing inspiration from the full-slice models of yesteryear, this high-performance playboat incorporates a host of modern features that only Dagger can deliver with finesse.
