Hot on the heals of the new Prijon Curve is the Forte. The Forte is a sporty river runner for light and medium weight paddlers.
It looks like the river running, fun to paddle/play kayak is back. Everyone doesn’t need a creeker all of the the time. This exactly what the guys at Jackson Kayak think, so to that end Jackson have just finished their first production of the new Fun in the 2014 mold. Looks like it could be a winner.
It has been some time since Prijon have launched a new whitewater kayak. The Curve is a river running kayak – super agile and boofs like a champ. The Curve also comes with Prijon’s brand new outfitting system.
Just in for review is a big pile of Sweet Protection mountain biking kit including the new Bushwacker helmet.
Sweet uses the same computer technology used in its premium whitewater and snowsports helmets to produce the new Bushwacker. Superb protection cover and digitally modelled air flow has resulted in a very fine and uniquely designed helmet.
This is somewhat of a different product from Sweet. Sweet are well known for their great kayak and snow sports kit but the Jailbreak jacket offers something a little different. The Jailbreak is essentially a light weight mountain jacket suitable for a range of activities.
It’s not a jacket for on water use. I have so far used the Jailbreak while I have been mountain biking, climbing and hill walking. Think of the Jailbreak as an Arcteryx Beta LT and you would be along the right lines.

A couple of years ago I knocked up my own GoPro grip system using a cut off from a kayak paddle shaft. It worked really well and I managed to get some good/steady shots whilst using it. Recently I was sent a GoPro Grenade Grip to try out.
The GoPro blackout housing is one of GoPro’s latest accessory release. The case is based on the same form factor as the Hero 3+ housing so will fit both the Hero 3 and Hero 3+.
Alcohol stoves are great little bits of kit. I own a couple of Whitebox stoves that I purchased online and love them. The following set of instructions were taken from a post that was made on one of my other sites. It’s a great DIY guide on making an alcohol stove using an air freshener can. The whole process involves using a pressurised container and tools that could serious hurt or kill you. Attempt at your now risk neither this site, myself or the original author accept no responsibility if you were to hurt yourself (or worse) making/using a stove based on the one shown below.
WARNING … ensure pressurised can is COMPLETELY EMPTY and COMPLETELY DEPRESSURISED before starting !!!!
It would be fair to say I have a problem with Buffs. To put it simply I think they are great and I own loads!
My set of modifications that I worked up for the Fluid Kayaks 2013 outfitting. I highly recommend the 2014 outfitting, but the boats with 2013 outfitting are on sale for super cheap right now, so it might be worth your time to make these changes to get the outfitting super stable and durable.
