Continue readingThe Green is special in itself but 200% is up there with one of the best days on the water. Anything up to 21-22″ the run is nothing but joy to bomb down. But once you move past around the 22″ mark things start to escalate quickly and every inch starts to add a lot of water in that steep section. Most of the run continues to be as glorious as ever, but Gorilla into the slides start to become absolutely stout. I made a pit stop headed elsewhere at the put in exit for the Green, which turned out to be the best decision ever, cause I woke up to a ton of rain. Not only was the Green back at epic flows, but Big Hungry creek was flowing in giving the perfect combo. Matt Anger picked up the call, and it was just another rowdy, but glorious lap!

Continue readingEver since I got the production Antix the one place I couldn’t wait to get it on was the Green. Normally when I am at the Green it is just for the race and I am doing long boat laps and training. Getting the chance to do a summer lap, in the half slice was something else. There were so many sick moves and seams to hit. It was such an epic day, and I definitely plan on getting more laps like this, cause it was just too good.

Continue readingHere I break down some tips and tricks for learning the “Boof Stomp” style of boofing your whitewater kayak. If you don’t know how to boof yet, then look back at my video on ‘How to Boof’ as a precursor to this video. Please feel free to like, comment, and share with me your thoughts on my advice and what tricks you would like to see next.

Continue readingAlthough the falls at Rock Island run often in the winter and spring, it’s rare to get the chance in the summer. Luckily due to some issues with the generators they released some water out of the dam, bringing in the spout line and sieve city. It was on the low end, but it was at a level we essentially never see! We knew it was gonna be runnable, but what tricks to throw was the question.

Continue readingTowards the end of May the Antix 2.0 mold finally arrived, and right as we were able to get the first boats out of the mold to paddle, some rain hit and we were able to get a low water lap on the Caney Fork. Despite the lower water, the Antix 2.0 made the run just as fun as always, and can’t wait to get back on there with some juice!
