Here I break down some tips and tricks for learning the “Boof Stomp” style of boofing your whitewater kayak. If you don’t know how to boof yet, then look back at my video on ‘How to Boof’ as a precursor to this video. Please feel free to like, comment, and share with me your thoughts on my advice and what tricks you would like to see next.
Although the falls at Rock Island run often in the winter and spring, it’s rare to get the chance in the summer. Luckily due to some issues with the generators they released some water out of the dam, bringing in the spout line and sieve city. It was on the low end, but it was at a level we essentially never see! We knew it was gonna be runnable, but what tricks to throw was the question.
This Week on Kayak Support, we headed back to West Virginia and paddled the New River Gorge! We had an epic day working our way down the massive, pool-drop rapids, surfing, and of course, getting flipped! In this episode, we talk through what I learned about combat rolls in big water and show you some of my lines down this all-time classic river! YEW!
Wanted to make this edit for ages, but I wanted to wait to have a space to be able to record it and edit it properly. Big thanks to everyone supporting us on patroen, we saved up the last several months and used the money to upgrade our camera and light system massively. Still shooting on the Panasonic GH5 but now with a good tripod, external monitor and lighting.
The 4th video in the series shows how the shoulders and chest contribute to the generation of power and how they conserve the power and keep it contained in the body and boat.
Todays video is about the trunk which transmits power between the legs and the shoulders. Maybe not the most exciting but a weak trunk means energy spillage.

Day 2 and we move to the top end of the leg to try and maximise the transition of force, generated from the feet, through to the upper body. A brief description of the problems we commonly see and hopefully some ideas as to how we may address them.
