GoPro Blackout

GoPro have launched a new matt black special OPs type housing for the GoPro 3 and 3+. The idea is that it gives the camera a more covert look and won’t grab the attention of those who may be caught while you are out filming.

GoPro - Blackout

It’s a novel idea and I must admit it looks pretty good. If they can do it in black, could they not also make a high viz version?

Specs:

The GoPro Blackout Housing keeps a low profile thanks to its matte black finish. It’s perfect for special ops filming with your GoPro, and capturing footage without drawing attention to the camera. The included LCD concealment stickers help eliminate light reflection from the housing’s LCD window. Waterproof to 131’/40m. Includes Standard and Skeleton Backdoors.

It may be another one for the Must Have Accessories list.

Looks good, I’m sure Top Gear have been using these (or painted their own) for at least a year now….

It’s a good idea, but you can get rubber coverings for a GoPro really cheaply off Amazon 😉
