The Dominatrix is Riot’s scaled down Trickster. The Dominatrix is both shorter and has less volume than its larger sibling. This puts the Dominatrix somewhere between the Riot Disco and Trickster.
The Domiatrix is available in three sizes 41, 44, and 47.
The footrest consists of wedge foam blocks that would need trimming depending on the size of the paddler. The general feel of the boat was good and required no trim adjustments for my size and weight. Riots don’t have the traditional set of thigh braces but rely on the shape of the hull itself to perform the same function. As a result the cockpit of the Dominatrix is a special Riot sized system that will require a suitably sized spraydeck. PeakUK make some of the best Riot fit decks available.
If you are careful with your edge control and are used to longer boats then despite its name the Dominatrix forgiving, controllable and fun. Having the famous Hydro-glide hull means that the Dominatrix performs well on moving water. Having the bulk of volume centred around the cockpit means that cartwheeling is fairly straightforward with the boat handling well from end to end. Throughout the move the Dominatrix feels controlled and stable.
Once again Riot have produced a great boat. The Dominatrix is well worth checking out.
