Substantial RAW – Lower Ulvåa – Sven Lammler

Screen Shot 2015-02-01 at 08.31.40

This is a very rarely run section of the Ulvåa that drops into the Lower Rauma in Central Norway. Huge slides and insane amounts of gradient keep people away…but this river actually turned out to be one of the most classic runs in all of Scandinavia…the upper section is more mellow, but still high high quality! Watch Svenny get hyphy on some gnar gnar! Continue reading

Liquidlogic Flying Squirrel – Review

Liquidlogic Flying Squirrel - Review

The Squirrel is Liquidlogic’s latest white water kayak and the second designed through the company’s Automatic For The People initiative. Demand for a boat similar to Liquidlogic’s successful Remix but with additional bow rocker and volume in addition to an overall increase in volume was high. In fact Liquid Logic used the original Remix model as the starting point for the Flying Squirrel and built in many of the features that both team members and Liquid Logic fans had been calling for.

I have been lucky enough to get hold of one of the first Squirrels to land here in the UK and have been paddling Squirrel each week over the last couple of months. Over the years I have owned a number of Liquidlogic boats including – Vision, Ronin, Biscuit, and Stomper, so I was very interested to give this new #automaticforthepeople kayak a try.

Pyranha Burn III (Small) – Review

As a smaller female paddler I was asked to review the new small Pyranha Burn 3. I am 5’0”, weigh around 60kg and not particularly flexible. I currently paddle a Zet Veloc, with a brief time paddling the Dagger Mamba 7.5 before and during a trip to Nepal. I confess I have never tried the previous small Burns because they never appeared to be small enough.

Liquidlogic Flying Squirrel 85 – First Impressions

Review by: Kirstie Macmillan

At 8’9″ (266cm), the Liquidlogic Flying Squirrel 85 is much longer than my current creek boat, a Wavesport Recon 70. Despite the Squirrel’s sporty length, it is surprisingly light and doesn’t feel like you are paddling a barge!

unsponsored_squirrel (10)

Over the last few weeks there has been a great deal of interest in my thoughts on the Flying Squirrel versus the Recon. I have a review underway at the moment and will be publishing it after a little bit more time on the water with the Squirrel. In the meantime here are a few very initial thoughts, comparisons and specs.

Liquidlogic Flying Squirrel – First Paddle

I was lucky enough to spend a couple of hours today paddling the new Liquidlogic Squirrel 95. Over the years I have owned a number of Liquidlogic boats including – Vision, Ronin, Biscuit, and Stomper, so was very interested to give this new #automaticforthepeople boat a try.

The boat was borrowed from Northshore Watersports based at the Tees Whitewater course which is located around 10 minutes from home. Always a good place to try out new kit as conditions remain pretty much the same (other than when major block changes have been made!).

A shiny new Liquidlogic Flying Squirrel is on its way to Unsponsored HQ as I type this. In the meantime Kev from Northshore Watersports here in the UK hooked me up with one of his two demo Squirrels (Kev has both the 85 and 95 on demo).

The newest boat from Liquidlogic arrived in the UK this week and has soon found it’s way out to dealers including Northshore Watersports.

Pyranha Burn III Small – First Look

Screen Shot 2014-09-30 at 19.32.09

A quick look at the new Pyranha Burn III Small from PaddleExpo 2014. We are really excited about this new boat and the potential it will bring out in young up-and-coming paddlers as well as the smaller members of the kayaking community who want a boat that will allow them to be in control, won’t swamp them and is light enough to make those long walk-ins and portages less of a chore.
