Galway Fest Registration is now open for the 2019 event.
Originating in 2012 GalwayFest is now one of the largest whitewater paddling festivals in Ireland. It takes place over two days and features a whitewater race event and a freestyle event not to mention a infamous party.
Continue readingSome great images from Sean Gadget Lynn from this weekends Galwayfest. Galwayfest is a weekend long whitewater kayaking event held in the Galway area of Ireland. It was started by two NUIG members, Andrew Regan and Barry Loughnane back in 2012. It has become a huge event with kayakers travel from throughout Ireland, Europe and the UK to take part.
The event involves two competitions; a freestyle kayaking competition held at either Clifden or Tuam and a whitewater race held on the Boluisce river. Sean’s images come from the freestyle event. Continue reading
