It’s been along time since we’ve seen an edit from Freestyle master James Bebbington. Thankfully he had taken his camera to the worlds and has put the following edit together. Enjoy!

To our Wave Sport family,
It has been our honor to produce the best whitewater kayaks in the world for the last 29 years. When Chan Zwanzig started Wave Sport in 1986, he was importing one kayak from the UK, the Lazer. Fast forward a few years, Wave Sport playboats were dominating world competitions, as our creek boats were used to notch the hardest first descents. Wave Sport was on the leading edge in the ‘90s and that has continued through today.
So it is with mixed emotions we announce to you that we are transitioning production and distribution of all Wave Sport kayaks to Europe, starting in 2016. Our remaining North American inventory will be sold through our loyal retailers.
The Project X from Wavesport has been around for quite a few years having been originally released way back in 2011. The release of the new Möbius has removed the Project X from being Wavesport’s premium playboat. However quite a few retailers have stock at killer prices.
The Project X is a short freestyle kayak that is available in three different sizes – 48, 56 and 64 gallons. The first generation had Wavesport’s Core Outfitting. The outfitting in early models was good but some issues with delamination had been reported by quite a few paddlers. Wavesport quickly rectified this issue with an update in the materials and production techniques used.
A few images from last weekend are emerging of a new Liquidlogic kayak. The Mullet as shown in the image below looks like a classic short river running play boat.
Dale Mears shows just what can be achieved when you have a great paddler like Jack Gunter at HPP and the new Joby Action Jib. Filmed using the Contour Roam 3.
The Boost is Vajda’s newest composite playboat. Vajda have a strong following not only in the whitewater slalom community but also within the freestyle/playboating world and I suspect that the new boost will be a hit.
The new Vajda Boost first video from Platling was created by Peter Csonka. It really shows what can be achieved when you combine cutting edge design with composite materials.
Some fun footage of FeatherWeight boats and crew ripping. The Feather – we designed this boat to carve hard, go big and be the most fun you have ever had in a kayak I talked with some of the best boaters in the world to find out what people wanted in a new boat. The Step Chine is a new advancement in kayak tech, borrowing from powerboat designs giving a raised rail that only engages when needed. Its a loose comfortable fit for me at 6′ size 11 with thick booties on. These boats last for years being almost infinitely repairable, making them cheaper and greener long term than plastic. That and ten times more fun, carbon boats aren’t just for pros.
Captured some sick early morning shots all around Ötz valley, Plattling and Salzkammergut. Having a good time traveling with the guys while working in Munich and Passau.
Wout enjoying the juicy levels at Plattling summer 2014 in this great edit. Shot with a GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition at 1080p-60fps. Continue reading
