The WRSI<\/a> Current helmet was born from the desire to create a mass produced and incredibly safe whitewater helmet that could survive multiple impacts.<\/p>\n

The WRSI Current Helmet<\/a> is designed to provide maximum safety for whitewater kayakers, rafters and canoeists, with a highly adjustable and comfortable fit. High quality and user friendly.
\nWRSI stands for Whitewater Research and Safety Institute, an organization founded to advance whitewater safety awareness and technology.<\/p>\n

The Current is designed to fit a range of head sizes. It includes 9 pads of different thicknesses that you can easily mix and match for a custom fit. <\/p>\n

Sizing: 54cm-59cm (hat size of 6 3\/4 to 7 3\/8)<\/p>\n

A multi-impact shell combines with an EVA foam liner and a polyurethane sub-shell to effectively dissipate impacts.<\/p>\n

Soft EVA foam pads line the sub-shell for extra protection and comfort. They attach with hook-and-loop patches.<\/p>\n

The Interconnect Retention System works as an adjustable harness to ensure a safe and secure fit.<\/p>\n

The WRSI production process is 100% wind powered and strives to be 100% waste free.

The helmet comes in arrange of colours and in a vented and non-vented flavour. Vented helmets have holes to allow water to drain. I went for the non-vented Current.<\/p>\n

A small peak helps provide a little sun protection and the sides and back of the helmet provide really good coverage.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

My helmet<\/a> was one of the first off the production line. Over time the rivets used to hold the straps in place have began to corrode. I have noticed a similar issue with helmets of the same vintage. I am unsure whether or not this issue has since been addressed by the WRSI team. I have some high grade rivets on standby to replace the originals.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The helmet<\/a> comes with a range of pads to get the fit of the helmet just right. I have used a combination of thin and thick pads to get the fit right for me. I have taken a number of knocks since I have had the helmet and it has proved its worth offering good protection each and every time.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The \u201cO-Brace,\u201d at the rear of the helmet<\/a> is designed to prevent the helmet from rocking back and forth which can ultimately expose the forehead. It’s position can be adjusted up and down using the ladder system within the helmet. The chin strap then runs from the helmet to and through the “O-Brace” to pull it close into the back the head.<\/p>\n
