The Fission SL is a super light weight Goretex pro jacket that is insulated.  It&#8217;s a great jacket that is both light and warm and it has served me well through the British winters for the last couple of years. I looked at possible solutions for repair &#8211; tape, glue, patch etc. All were viable but to be honest if it&#8217;s less than perfect it would simply annoy me. So the only option was to contact Arc&#8217;teryx direct. To be honest I didn&#8217;t hold out much hope as I expected the repair to be hugely expensive and therefore not cost effective. But is was worth a go.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I made a service warranty\/repair request via the <a href=\"http:\/\/arcteryx.com\/Home.aspx?language=EN\" target=\"_blank\">Arc&#8217;teryx website<\/a>.  An auto response was received immediately and I awaited contact. As expected (the damage was my fault after all) a repair outside of warranty would be required at a cost of around \u00a350 including postage to get it back to me.<\/p>\n<p>Now it may sound silly but if the repair didn&#8217;t meet my high standards the jacket would have been sold on. I was concerned that this would be the case and that I would be finding myself buying another brand new (perfect) Fission before the postie had got to the end of the street.  Thankfully what I received back was a very professional repair. The cut area had been removed and an internally stitched patch has been put in its place &#8211;  Neat, exact and hardly noticeable unless you are search for it.
