We’ve posted quite a bit on this new kayak<\/a> (and here<\/a>) having seen it appear in number of videos lately. We now have more detail following the official announcement from Liquidlogic<\/a> today. The boat has been designed by Pat Keller and has a number of new features including the turbo boosters!<\/p>\n

The specifications are as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Length 259cm
\nWidth 69cm
\nCockpit Length 87.6cm
\nCockpit Width 53cm
\nWeight 22kg
\nVolume 333L
\nPaddler Weight 68 – 113kg<\/p>\n

This puts the Delta V of being longer than the Stomper 90 and Jefe Grande. However in terms of volume it is 8l smaller than the Stomper 90 and Jefe Grande. This in turn means that the Delta V is recommended for paddlers between 68 and 113kg. The Stomper 90 is 77 to 122kg and the Jefe Grande 77 – 132KG.<\/p>\n

You’ll see a few features on the deck that can also be found on the very popular Remix kayak series. But there is greater use of what Liquidlogic are calling Turbo Acceleration Pockets aka Turbo Boosters. There aim being that water helps the kayak move by pushing against these contours.<\/p>\n

Overview:<\/p>\n

With this model, we created a creek boat that will behave very well in any situation. The paddler will get the feeling that the DELTA V is taking care of them while on the water. With soft edges, smooth Braaap inspired rocker and a shorter platform, the DELTA V allows the paddler to go anywhere their intended line takes them. The Delta V also features a unique stern \u201cTurbo Booster\u201d design which accelerates the kayak forward when engaged after a drop. Combine this with the nimble and intuitive feel which allows the boat to make difficult maneuvers seem effortless and you have one powerful design. Simply put, this creek boat will have entry level paddlers falling in love with it immediately, and top paddlers choosing it every time they are pushing the boundaries of the sport.<\/p>\n

Detail:<\/p>\n

This whitewater kayak definitely lives up to its double meaning name; DELTA V (del\u00b7ta vee); Literally meaning Change in Velocity – The unique stern Turbo Booster features accelerate the kayak forward after drops using naturally occurring flows.<\/p>\n

Delta waves in sleep correlated with dreaming plus the Roman numeral for five \u2013 This boat will have you dreaming about running Class 5 rapids all day.<\/p>\n

Additional features include:<\/p>\n

Center-line deck peak providing ultra-stability and directional locking when surfacing.<\/p>\n

Side edge in the bow to provide ample foot room for comfort all day on the water.<\/p>\n

Braaap style bow rocker for smooth maneuvering.<\/p>\n

Cockpit area displacement hull design is tried and true with its lineage directly coming from the Jefe Series. Finding the right seat placement for your center of gravity will allow you to spin on a dime and hold your speed.<\/p>\n

Stern features allow for little negative impact from cross current.<\/p>\n

The kick rocker comes from slalom roots to provide controlled speed and agility.<\/p>\n

New Seat Colors:<\/p>\n

We are excited to have new seat colors with the Delta V! The Yellow and Sunburst Delta V will include a Blue seat color. The Blue Delta V will include a charcoal seat color.<\/p>\n

Graphic:<\/p>\n

We wanted the graphic to also reflect the double meaning of the name, so we blended the look of a rocket ship blast off (representing the stern \u201cTurbo Booster\u201d features propelling the boat forward after a drop) with the look of waterfall. The font and Liquidlogic drop sliding across is space age inspired. The \u201c88\u201d represents the volume of the kayak.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
