We have a pair of the new Sweet Protection Shazam Shorts in for review at Unsponsored.

"Sweet

The Shazam Shorts are Sweet’s take on the classic board short but tailored specifically for the paddlesport market.

"Sweet

The ones shown here are Cody Orange, although in some of the images they look very red. They are definitely more orange than red in the flesh. They are also available in black and both colours retail at £69.99 (UK).

The Shazam shorts are made from a soft, light and slightly stretchy material. Unlike the Shambala shorts the Shazam are unlined. The shorts are quite long as they are designed to sit just below the knee. They are articulated at the knee and fit incredibly well.

"Sweet

The waist is adjusted by a retained lace system.

"Sweet

It’s super simple and it work, I also much prefer this to a press stud or zipped closure system. One thing I didn’t like is that the ends of the lace are left unfinished and supper long.

"Sweet

I can understand the unfinished aspect but I didn’t like the length of the frayed ends. Once I made sure that the knots were not going anywhere scissors took care of the frayed ends.

"Sweet

"Sweet

The zipped pocket located on the right hand leg is positioned so that it does not get in the way when sitting in a kayak.

Sweet Protection offer a 2 year warranty on these shorts.

From Sweet:

Lightweight and quick drying, the Shazam shorts are your go-to for warm weather paddling. Below the knee fi t for extra comfort in and out of the boat. The Shazam Shorts are a perfect match for the Sabrosa Dry Top.
