BCWW has been in contact with the Tahltan Nation regarding access for paddling the Stikine Canyon. Unfortunately kayakers are not welcome this year. This is understandable, the health of their community and their elders is the priority. Kayakers who ignore this message could jeopardize access for years to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a group, we should consider not travelling to remote communities this summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

We realize this will be very frustrating for some paddlers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The river will be there next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
