For a day out riding (summer or winter) this is just the right size for me. I have contemplated getting the 14 litre version so I could carry a mirrorless DSLR camera and wide angle lens inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The Hauser a weatherproof hydration pack designed to go anywhere in all conditions keeping your gear secure and dry. The main cargo compartment is secured by a roll-top closure which can also be used in the flap-down configuration to provide additional coverage for the front zippers. Available in three advanced fabric variations: Dimension Polyant X-Pac\u00ae, HT500, and MultiCam-Black Cordura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hydration pack has a total of four weatherproof exterior pockets to provide easy access to gear, and the included tool-roll is fully removable and organizes all of the essentials. A series of external straps can be deployed to hold a helmet, pads or numerous other gear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hauser utilizes a fully padded back panel and shoulder harness made from Ariaprene which supplies complete ventilation and breathability while a zippered compartment allows perfect placement and easy access to reservoir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mission Workshop<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

I usually carry a 2 or 3 litre bladder, a tool roll containing tools and spares. A windproof top, a waterproof jacket, rear light, snacks, wooly hat, second pair of gloves and some snack bars. These photos show a fully packed bag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hauser uses heavy duty weatherproof nylon, in this case a limited edition VX black camo nylon, paired with a hanging laminated nylon liner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The black camo cordura face fabric is backed onto VX. This is the diamond grid that can be seen in the images.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hauser is billed as being water resistant rather than waterproof, and can be rolled closed and secured via a thick Velcro top strap or two quick release buckles. If the roll top is used the buckles can be snapped out of the way. Or it can be used like a conventional rucksack and closed with a pair of buckles. I tend to roll the lid and use the Velcro. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four pockets keep must-have items within reach. A small zippered back pocket holds keys, or wallet. It has a weather resistant YKK zip. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A small right-side pocket with a vertical running zip can take a a fair bit of gear, but I tend to use the pocket for energy gels and bars. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A third pocket sits low on the pack and stores straps that can be used to carry knee\/elbow pads. This pocket is in the firing line for mud from the back wheel. I haven\u2019t used this pocket for anything other than the straps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, a large back pocket billows out and is designed to hold the compartmented roll tool bag (included). This pocket can take a load of gear in addition to the tool roll. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The shoulder straps and back panel of the Hauser are lined with 3D mesh for added padding and ventilation. This helps to make the pack comfortable to wear, even on longer rides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The long YKK zipper running around the back of the Hauser allows you to access the compartment for your hydration system. The hose can be run for left or right handed use and the shoulder straps feature a hose clip on either side. I use the Osprey\/Hydrapak bladders that feature a magnetic on the bite valve so have added a magnetic clip to the sternum strap as shown in the images.

    I swapped out the original fastek waist buckle for a Cobra one. Not that I needed to, just because I fancied trying Cobra buckle out.The waist belt can be removed if needed. and the shoulder straps have two lower attachment options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
