I have been using a pair of Five Ten Trail Cross<\/a> MTB shoes for the last few years as my go to biking shoe. Over the last few rides I had started to notice that the lace on one shoe was about to give up. Finding a suitable replacement was not easy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enter the Salomon Quicklace. Having used Salomon shoes for years I am familiar with the system and prefer it to normal laces. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The system comes with two lengths of lace, two lace locks and two end pieces. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The kit comes with some printed instructions and a QR code with a link to a YouTube video. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you can lace a shoe you can install the Quicklaces. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Salomon Quicklace Review<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Once laced up the ends of laces are threaded through the lace locks and then through an end piece. You decide how long you need the lace, trim, burn the ends and tie a knot. Done. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The original laces in the Trail Cross were 160cm long and this kit had plenty of lace to get these boots laced up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The system works really well and keeps my shoes nice and tight. I can tuck the ends of the laces into the rest of the system so there is no risk of them getting snagged on the pedals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When wet there isn\u2019t any issue with the system slipping or letting go. There seems to be far less need to readjust during a ride. Getting rid of mud and drying them off is also super easy. I was worried that the thinner diameter of the cord would be an issue but in reality there hasn\u2019t been any issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
