Getting hold of new products that have carefully crafted is always a pleasure and the Chimini<\/a> defintely falls into that category. The Chimini<\/a> is made to order here in the UK by a blacksmith in Devon with over 15 years of blacksmithing experience.<\/p>\n

Here in the Uk very few campsites allow camp fires. Even portable BBQ’s are an issue as they tend to scortch the ground. I therefore thought it would be quite interesting to get hold of a Chimini<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"Unsponsored-chim<\/p>\n

First impression are good. The unit is well made and feels nice and solid. The welds within the unit are clean and the overall look is handcrafted yet modern. The Chimini<\/a> has a large opening on the front allow feeding and setting up of the fuel. There is also a twisted iron handle that can be used to carry the Chimini<\/a> around when it is cool.<\/p>\n

The Chimini<\/a> sits on raised legs and therefore (as I have found) does not scorch the ground even if you have a fire going all night. So it gets around many of the concerns raised by campsites and the issues you might have lighting a fire on your decking.<\/p>\n

\"Unsponsored-chim<\/p>\n

The Chimini<\/a> is a nice small unit that weighs around 6-7lbs, it is definitely portable but you wouldn’t want to carry it on a backpacking trip! It is however perfect for car camping or using in your backyard. The unit works extremely well. All of the fires set within it have burnt well. Holes on the sides aid with the flow of air. The Chimini<\/a> seems pretty efficient with loads of twigs and sticks lasting a relatively long time. The unit also pushes out the heat really well.<\/p>\n

Over the last couple of months the Chimini<\/a> has been heavily used and left outside during some pretty bad weather without any ill effects. It still looks good and is performing well.<\/p>\n
