The Remix is LiquidLogics displacement hull river runner. The boat has a strong following across the globe but you don’t see very many of them here in the UK. I managed to get a loan of a Remix 79 for a few weeks and spent a number of days on the water in various conditions and locations.

Liquid Logic Remix – Review

The Remix is supplied with Liquid Logics BADASS system. The BADASS outfitting is something I’ve been familiar with for some time as I have paddled Liquid Logic boats pretty much exclusively for the last few years. The ability to lift the backrest out of the way to get into the stern of the boat is definitely a nice refinement to the system.

First and foremost the Remix is a fast boat. Having paddled creekers and playboats over the last few years it was refreshing to be in such a fast river running boat.

The Remix is super easy to roll. It feels stable throughout the move with no funny business.

A river runner will never quite be as a good as a creeker when it comes to boofing a drop. However the Remix boofs quite well, its displacement hull quick turn of speed makes the Remix quite good for creek boating. The Remix is relatively long which goes a long way to helping with its speed. The Remix does turn reasonably well, and is also able to hold a line. The Remix is able to punch through stoppers with ease. If you do get stuck in a hole the Remix remains stable and it is easy to keep control. The round hull is the key here, although beginners may find it a little tippy at first. But it doesn’t take long to get a handle of.

In a kayaking world full of creek boats it is very easy to let kayaks like the Remix to pass you by. If you are a weekend warrior, kayak instructor and a one boat fits all kind of paddler then the Remix is worth checking out.
