Okay so Saturday was actually our last day in Voss after we decided to hang around so that Sandra could do the boater X race. We knew that with her big guns and river racing tekkers that she would have no problem claiming a few prizes. Unfortunately the sneaky organisers saw her coming and added an upstream gate into the mix and even after some nice words of encouragement from us on the bank, that went a bit like “Sandra thou art paddling shit, go faster” she failed to catch the eddy. However she did come 3rd winning a lovely towel. Jenny won though so all is good.

In the mens Joe pulled out his slalom skills to show everyone how it was done by overtaking everyone around the upstream and knocking Sam Sutton out at the Semi-final. His brother must have taken offence to this because in the final he took on more of a bulldozer tactic around the gate knocking Joe from 1st to Last.

Sunday morning was spent driving up north where we got to drive through a very long tunnel with some nicely coloured lights. We then paddled the upper Sogndal which is a sweet 5km section of steep continuous grd4. The lower section is known as the waterfall run and has 3 consecutive waterfalls somewhere around 20ft – 30ft each. Barney and Joe ran these with Joe getting to the bottom with a broken nose and a popped deck.

Since then we have been back to the Sogndal waterfalls again and also paddled the Storeelva.

We’re currently on the way to Valdal.
