Jason Raper is attempting a 3 day source to sea paddle of the River Ure (UK) in aid of the Great North Air Ambulance.

Some info from the Justgiving page

Why?

On new years day 2012 a truly inspiring friend Kate Stainsby died in a accident while Kayaking in the Yorkshire Dales. Kate was an amazing women and will live on forever in our memories. The emergancy services were phenomanal and the work they do day in day out is outstanding. The Great North Air ambulance played a huge role in the rescue efforts and meant that her family had chance to see her before she sadly passed away.

This has inspired us to give something back and show our appreciation for their attempts.

What / where?

Two of us along with support of many frineds have decided to Kayak the river Ure from its source near Hawes in the Yorkshire Dales to the the Sea Spurn Point which is approximatley 155 miles. The trip encorparates the river Ure, Ouse and the Humber. We are aiming to hopefully complete it in 3 days.

Who?

Currently doing the full paddle are; Jason Raper and James Barnes but I am sure we will be joined by many friends on the way.

When

We are planning on doing the paddle between the 9th and 11th of March 2012.

Please help by donating every little helps and is really appreciated.

Thanks Jason and James
