The Sweet Shadrach has had a redesign for 2012, the cag I have is in this really fab Grass Green colour scheme. The Shadrach is the first Goretex cag that I have worn for any length of time and straight off it has a high quality feel. The Goretex used is the 3 – layer Performance variety which is designed for extreme and extended use. I have a number of bits of kit made out of the same material and although it feels quite soft I know that it will take a beating and come back for more.
The waist band/tunnel is really deep and has a pair of large velcro’d straps to adjust the cag to get that good seal with your deck. The way in which the waist is designed makes it super easy to get the Shadrach on and off without having a huge amount of excess fabric. The inner side of the tunnel/waist band has a sharkskin neoprene finish which grips nicely onto my IR deck.
A semi dry chest pocket with a mesh drain is a good size and can happily take my bits and bobs in an Aloksak pouch. The outer neck also has a similar drain.
I’m not a huge fan of velcro’d wrist seals on top of the latex. In this case the Shadrachs latex wrist seals are protected by a really neat and simple outer neoprene cone – clean and effective. Nothing to catch or snag.
The inner waist tunnel is a great length and has a silicon type coating with Sweet branding on its lower edge to help keep it in place.
A very neat and solid finish to the fabric/latex joint which has been glued and taped. Both the neck and wrist seals feel pretty substantial.
The taping is right up there with the best I have ever seen.
