Peak Design are a US based company who design innovative camera accessories. The one that has caught my eye is the Camera Capture Clip with the POV kit.
From Peak Design:
Need to turn any backpack strap, belt or strap-like object into a mount for a GoPro® or any P.O.V. video device. Shoot video in ways you’ve never imagined with these durable and ultra-versatile products. Buy Capture and P.O.V. Kit together and save $5 off retail prices when purchased separately.
What you essentially have is a quick release system that allows you to attach your GoPro to belts and straps. I’m thinking it could be a great addition to my GoPro mount kit as it will allow me to securely fasten the GoPro to the shoulder strap of my PFD.
I have a set on order and expect it very shortly.

One of the biggest areas that is overlooked when getting a video/camera setup for trips out is the speed of the your SD or Micro SD card. Now this doesn’t matter if your camera is a GoPro, Contour, Garmin, Sony or whatever because without a good memory card you may struggle to capture the video footage you want.
The Speed Class Rating is the official unit of speed measurement for all SD cards, including both full and micro sized versions. Speed Class is a minimum speed based on a worst case scenario test and represents the minimum transfer rate of data that the card is capable of.
River Tawe Jan 2014 Scotty camera mount experiments from Five Element Productions on Vimeo.
A test of the Scotty kayak mount with a GoPro. WARNING: This video contains shots of mild white water kayaking slowed down in an attempt to make it look far more dramatic than it actually was…
This trip also resulted in a rather embarrasing swim after going through a stopper and hitting an edy by mistake before getting sucked back into said stopper for a head pounding. Scotty mount survived it nicely though!

Kaituna Gnarly Gorge 100% GoPro from SB Productions on Vimeo.
Fun lap with the boys down the Lower Gorges of the Kaituna. After scouting for new wood we decided to paddle Gnarly and it was awesome, some of the best most continuous white water in between vertical walls covered with moss and pangas. Such an amazing place, doesn’t get much better!
Thanks Brendan, Tim and Tyler for showing me down!
Tree Trunk Gorge from Martina Wegman on Vimeo.
Tree Trunk Gorge on the Tongariro River, just South of Taupo off the Desert road in New Zealand is a Unique place. To enter the gorge a crux rapid with a huge tree has to be paddled or a 6 meter seal launch lands you right above the first 40 footer. Straight following that is another 8meter drop to exit the gorge.

Here is a great MYOG/DIY GoPro rear kayak mount by Lee Barrell. This system allows you to attached a GoPro pole mount arrangement to the rear of your kayak without the need of removing or modifying your boat in any way.
Things can go wrong. When they do it’s important to have the skills, kit and quick reaction to deal with it. This great video from Liam Chambers shows just how important this is.
Grizedale Beck pin to swim, to unpin. from Liam Chambers on Vimeo.
Sometime about 18 months ago we were waiting for rivers to come up in the lakes and went to this, adamant to get on and paddle some for the sake of paddling myself and Greg ran the entry falls to the main slide.
Was it worth it? No. Was that safety course worth it? Yes. Could it have gone worse? Almost definitely. Here’s what happened.
Filmed using Nick Woodman’s finest.
Some serious WW action. Enjoy.

That sensation, that thrill you feel when about to go over the edge. A sensation sought and found by a select few, who scale the vast and turbulent waters of the world in tiny boats, at one with the rivers they travel, being able to see a version of the water that the rest of us never can.
I am not a kayaker, by any stretch of the imagination, but I was captured and inspired by the paddlers that I met when I first tried my hand at the sport. I was overcome with the sensation of fear, excitement and trepidation and this led to the idea behind this film.
My immortal soul and thanks to Simon Morse who is my shining star and guiding light in all things Canoe, and without whom this film would still be a crazy idea inside my crazy head.
Filmed in the Ystradfellte forest and Pen y Cae falls on the Afon Tawe in South Wales, and the Falls of Falloch on the River Falloch in Scotland. Continue reading

For years the Stikine has been considered the Everest of kayaking. The remoteness and difficulty of it’s rapids makes any of the most hardcore kayakers scared. Follow the Serrasolses brothers as they embark on an epic journey for the 2nd full descent of this whitewater gem.
