Watershed Ocoee – A Year On

Although I have a Sony TX10 waterproof digital camera there are times when it’s not quite up to the job. These situations include occasions when I’m photographing in low light or at longer distances. In these instances a DSLR is really the only way to go.

Now I have have said this before but will say it again – for most of my paddling career (28yrs+) I have used Playboater decks and it has only been Immersion Research who have been able to tempt me away from the brand. At present I own a couple of IR skirts. The first is a rand based (more on that later) skirt the Special K and the bungee based Klingon Empire. The latter has been my go to deck for over a year – I love it!

Hot, Hot, Hot – White Box Alcohol Stove

I love little bits of kit – knives, stoves etc they all have their own place in the kit store. I have a few stoves from the very complex multi fuel expedition varieties to the super simple drinks can. Search the net for penny stoves/alcohol stoves and you’ll find loads of guides on how to make a stove out of an old drinks can.

I’ve made a few with mixed success but have been really happy with the whitebox stoves I purchased on line via ebay.

Dagger’s entry into the cross over market – the Katana sparked a great deal of interest when images of parts of the boat were leaked on the net. Most were hoping for a revamp of the Nomad creakier. Nevertheless the Katana looks like it will be a great paddle and will be popular with a wide section of the market.

Team Dagger’s Chris Gragtman’s gives us the bow to stern on Dagger’s new Katana. Designed for whitewater overnighters, to easy river trips
