The GoPro Mission 1 and Mission 1 Pro are landing anytime now and if you are quick a pre-release order can be made and you will receive a GoPro Mission 1 Point and Shoot grip.
My Mission 1 Pro and grip arrived today.
The Point and Shoot Grip arrived fully assembled with a lanyard loop attached. This can be easily removed and repositioned onto one of the other attachment points.
The button on the back of the grip allows the grip to be released from the cage.
What hasn’t been mentioned much about the grip is that you can strip down the unit and only use the frame. This gives additional protection to the camera whilst also providing a few other mounting/cold shoe options.
The image below shows the GoPro Mission 1 Pro in the cage without the grip or cold shoe lever attached.
The cage can be removed by pressing the “Press” labelled button shown in the image below. For reference the Mission 1 Pro with battery, sd card and hood fitted comes in at 208g.
Buttons remain fully accessible.
As do the GoPro mount attachment points.
A tripod screw thread hole is provided on the metal cage and the base of the hand grip.
The cage is built like a tank and adds a fair bit of weight to camera. 379g with the full cage, lanyard and grip, Mission 1 Pro, hood, enduro 2 battery and micro SD card.

88g when stripped down to just the cage.
