I have had a Sandmarc GoPro Pole on test for the last few weeks and follows hot on the heals of the GoPole Evo.

Sandmarc GoPro Pole

The pole is divided in to three sections. When fully retracted it sits at 43cm and when fully extended 102cm. There is no issue fitting this inside of a rucksack or even within the back of a boat.

The pole can be adjusted via two points. A twist lock secures each section in place. A quarter turn unlocks and locks each section. On the end of the pole is a GoPro compatible mount. This is detachable so it is possible to use the pole with another camera system if a standard screw-on mount is available or is integrated within the camera or mount. This fitting can be used on a normal tripod so is a nice little touch.

Sandmarc GoPro Pole(4)

Oddly on this Sandmarc GoPro Pole everything is black with the exception of the mount which can be best described as a gun metal grey. There is another pole system named the black edition which has a black mount.

Compared to the GoPole pole the Sandmarc system is far more robust but with a small penalty of additional weight. Sandmarc offer a lifetime warranty on their products.
