Bren and Adrain are off on their travels again.
Myself and the boys are packed up and drove 50 hours cross country from Ottawa to California! It was a brutally long drive but we are stoked to show you what we’ve already been upto in California.
Kayakers vs Whirlpools – As the Ottawa river begins to rise the eddylines start to get way more powerful and at the top of the Butchers Knife rapid, some really powerful whirlpools begin to form!
Bren Orton and David Fusilli get competitive in the battle for the Pyranha Ripper
There is only one Pyranha ripper available on the West coast of America right now, all of the other ones have already been sold or taken by kayak shops. Myself and Dave Fusilli have been arguing about who should become the rightful owner of this kayak for the past two weeks, finally we decided to settle it like men. By battling through three / four highly serious challenges.

Kayaking down Sahalie falls – Dane Jackson and Bren Orton hit the 80ft fall. That is a big fall.
When I first saw Paul’s photo (below) I initially thought that the PFD looked like a FX or FX R in a funky new colour. But there is clearly a different zip and an additional zipped side pocket.
The jacket looks new as well!
Rob has been escaping from the wife and kids…
I’ve been back in England for a few weeks now resting up after a recent crash. I was finally starting to feel better so I called up one of my best mates and my old boss, Rob Harris and we went to the River Dart, the levels where so low but that didn’t stop us from having a great time! It felt just like old times, bunking off work, going kayaking and taking the piss out of each other… it was so much fun!
Myself (not me but Bren Orton) and Adrian are currently living in an African village… next to one of the best big waves in the world.
There are lots of great parts to living in the village from the friendly neighbours, stoked kids, pets and cost of living but the best part is how close we are to the legendary Nile Special wave.

Flying Unicorns at the NRF Big Air Ramp comp – The first day of the Nile River Festival competition was hilarious. Chilled out big air ramp comp into the lake just after registration for the main events had taken place. We caw some big airscrews, wipeouts and some hilarious inflatable unicorn flips.
Looking forward to the rest of the comp and the whitewater events over the weekend.
Bren Orton offers up some great tips on how to get your kayak onto the plane.
Getting your kayak onto the plane is one of the hardest and worst experiences you will ever have with your kayak. I typically take over 10 flights a year where I have to fly with my kayak, lot’s of times with airlines that fully disclose that they do not take kayaks.
Bren has been paddling in Montreal.
Big waves, small kayaks and jet skis. What is there not to like?
