Liquid Logic Session – Review

The Session and Session + were the first boats launched form the US company Liquid Logic. The company has grown strongly since the introduction of these boats so I thought I try and get my hands on one for a few hours and give it a try.

Liquid Logic Session – Review

I tried out the Session + which is the larger of the two at 7ft 10.

The outfitting is decent. The backrest is adjustable with ratchet either side located on the top of the thigh braces. Much like recent Prijon and Pyranha boats. It is really easy to get the back band tight, and yet still be able to get in and out of the boat. Everything was easy to adjust in the boat and foot room was decent for my size 10 plates.

MSR Hubba Hubba HP – Review

I’ve owned a MSR Hubba Hubba HP tent for well over a year and it has become my favourite tent. Room enough for two but light enough to be carried by one.

MSR Hubba Hubba HP - Review

The new updated HP models are now available in a more subdued green rather than just the YELLOW of the previous version. The green is light enough not to prevent light getting into the tent making the inner a much pleasant place to be.

North Face – Duffle

Relatively expensive, but worth every penny. This is a serious piece of kit, made out of heavy duty nylon with a cordura base. I currently own an 80L model which is more than capable of storing an entire set of winter paddling kit, inc. throw bags etc, etc… Probably no different to many other bags except carrying all that kit can be a pain. The NF bag comes with two well padded rugsack type straps which allows the bag to worn rucksack style. This is extremely comfortable as the bag molds to the shape of your back.

Palm FX PFD – First Look

I had a close look at the Palm FX PFD today. Both the fit and design are definitely upgrades from the previous model.

The FX is a simple over the head slab design with fully adjustable shoulder straps, a nice broad set of straps to get the fit nice and snug around your middle and a thinner web strap for the waist.

Leatherman Wave

The Leatherman Wave is solid piece of kit. As a river knife this bit of kit isn’t upto the job, but as a tool to carry in the boat, car or PFD for getting out of a fix then this is the daddy.

This made in the USA tool is 100% stainless steel (also available in titanium) and comes with a load of features including: needlenose pliers; five screwdrivers, including Phillips head; two knives, one serrated; a wire cutter/splicer; a saw; file; can/bottle opener; and scissors. Newer versions also come supplied with a bit driver.
