Roadtripping : To Washington I go
Having the chance to travel and see different rivers is Amazing. This April I had the chance to head down to the bottom of Washington to hit up the Northwest Creeking Comp. I also jumped around a bit and hit up some of the local creeks and rivers. This is the good and the bad of this wonderful trip.
We are big fans of Sweet Protection gear at Unsponsored HQ. We have bought a few bits over the last few years!
For 2016 Sweet have updated a number of products with new colours. However the dry gear has had more significant changes.

It’s simple – immobilise as easy and quick as possible, lets not get caught up with which sling is best, which way to strap.
We are big fans of Osprey gear at Unsponsored HQ. So when a new bag was required for mountain bike duties the Osprey website was consulted.
15 litres or there about seems to be the right kind of size for the bulk of riding that we do. Plenty of room for the essentials but not too much room that you end up filling because you can. The Osprey Zealot appeared to fit the bill nicely.
We’ve hit Movie Monday 18 April 2016. A total of twelve edits this week. Plenty of waterfalls and a few beaterings mixed in there.

Kyle Hull is one of the most animated and badass kayakers in the business. Charging hard at whatever he does.
This video from Wade Harrison shows what is said to be a newer version of the Dagger Phantom that we shared on Unsponsored some time ago.
The profile of the boat looks very similar so this looks like a tweaked design rather than a totally new one.
This weekend has gone so quickly, I almost forgot about Movie Monday 11 April 2016. No fear, here it is. Loads of whitewater action from across the globe and a MTB edit because I can.

Palm had a lightning bag shipped to Unsponsored HQ as soon as the production models were available. Retail customers will be able to get hold of a bag from good kayak/canoe retailers over the next few weeks.
Since the bag arrived we have had a good look over it and have tested but the feel, throwing and repacking ease with a number of different paddlers. Since the Lightning bag has already been compared to the HF Weasel by many it also makes sense to make some further comparisons during this initial look at the Lightning.
I have had the chance to have a close look at the Lightning bag a few times but this is the first time that I have been able to have not only a look but actually use the bag.
Earlier this year I had the opportunity to visit the guys at Palm Equipment.
Palm have been around since 1979 and not only do they manufacture a wide range of watersports softwear they are also the brains and organisation behind Dagger Europe along with a number of other Confluence brands in Europe.
Andy Knight started the company, Palm Glass Fibre Mouldings Ltd as it was known then, in 1979 and as the name suggests the company focussed on composite kayaks. The first range of paddle clothing was launched fives years later at the Crystal Palace canoe show (London).
I received an invite from Paul Robertson (Cheesy) to travel down to Palm HQ for a tour and an opportunity to talk about forthcoming developments. How could I possibly turn that down? So a suitable date and time was arranged and I travelled the hundreds of miles south with my camera gear in tow.
