A great edit of the Middle Tule from the guys at Prijon (USA). If you haven’t tried a Prijon whitewater kayak you are missing out.
A tough class V run at high flows, the Middle Fork of the Tule is a very flow dependant run! Here at low flows it’s much friendlier.
The dates for the 2016 Younguns Freestyle events have been announced. This grassroot series is well worth checking out either to take part in or to go along and support.
Of the couple of thousand posts on the site almost all have been written by myself. To expand Unsponsored’s reach I want to increase the number of posts. To put it quite simply I have visions on Unsponsored becoming the Pinkbike of the kayaking/canoeing world. I’ve said it now so there is no going back!
I need help to do this but cannot offer fame or fortune. However if you have a great video edit, a trip in the planning, a trip that has taken place, an event, some reflection on the sport or even gear reviews. The chances are many people will want to find out more and have a read/view. You’ll have your words, pictures and videos viewed by thousands of people each and every day. As always full credit is given.
So…can you help, what do you have?
Ten Waterfalls for Macmillan follows Richard Brinkmann on his quest to raise funds for a new Cancer research centre in Brighton. Well worth a watch and a great cause.
Something a little different for this Movie Monday. For the 22nd of Feb 2016 we have Movie Monday – Rescue Special aka Swims, pins and rescues.
We’ve been sent a photo showing what appears to be a Waka Tuna. However this is not the hull shape that we are familiar with.
Here is a few shots of the current design for reference.
Is it a new design? Has it been shopped?
We are trying to find out more.
Hot for 2016 is the new Palm Atom Drysuit. We saw one of these at Paddle Expo back in September 2015 so are very pleased to get hold of one for review on Unsponsored.
It’s been a few years since we last tried a Palm suit here at Unsponsored HQ which gives us the opportunity to take a fresh look at what Palm Equipment have been doing to develop their suits.
This is just madness. First they dam a beautiful river and then propose to put a huge landfill site on its banks.

A run down the Middle Fuy with the boys and girls from the World Class Academy.
After three weeks in Chile, World Class students were FIRED UP to run the famous Middle Fuy. Eleven students in total safely descended this fifty foot waterfall and the run below. I hope you enjoy this recap of WCA’s time on el Rio Fuy, Chile 2016. Yew!
The site has just past the 2500 posts mark with this post at 2501. Not too shabby.
Many thanks for the continued support.
2016 is going to be a big year for Unsponsored.
