I hate trees. Most of my river swims have been a result of a close encounter with a tree strung across the river.
Sam Ellis hooked up with a tree a couple of days back on the Lower Vent. This was a lucky escape.
It is never a good thing when someone gets pinned. However if it works out well and others can learn from the experience then all is good.
