A throwline is a must have piece of equipment for all kayakers and canoeists. We have had a Nookie Hornet 18m Rescue Throwline 8mm (9kN) in for review at Unsponsored for quite a few months. We are pretty familiar with Nookie’s Throwlines having owned and used quite a few over the last 30+ years of paddling.
The Nookie Turbo jacket is designed to be a performance led premium whitewater kayak jacket utilising the same high quality materials as the Nookie Charger Drysuit. What makes this jacket stand out is that it is also made at Nookie’s HQ here in the UK.
As you would expect with a premium design the Nookie Turbo Jacket has double seals to create a full dry jacket. This includes twin neck and wrists with high quality latex inners, and neoprene outer seals for durability and an extra dry seal.
I have had this Nookie paddle bag for around 7 years. It is absolutely bombproof. It is used primarily to protect my car from my paddles, but has also been used occasionally to protect my paddles from enthusiastic baggage handlers.
The bag is made from tough Cordura type material and features a large full length zip. This makes using the bag very easy. A clear document holder for ID is provided along with a mesh panel pocket. The bag came supplied with a shoulder strap but in all honesty this is something that I have never used.
