Continue readingIt is still pretty cold out there. The guys have made it to the Ottawa.
We made it to the Ottawa but levels are still low as the melt hasn’t started yet- but we can literally smell spring right now!
Soon the Ottawa will change entirely and we will be surfing big waves, but for now it’s joy laps on class III which is not the end of the world either.
A place of legend, the Bitches is tidal race just off the Welsh coastline. It’s a favourite with paddlers of all types. When it is running you’ll see various types of boats and the odd surfboard.

Saltburn, or Saltburn-by-the-sea to give it its full title is probably one of the surfing meccas of the North East. It lies just a few miles down coast form the Tees estuary with its large petrochemical and steel works within easy access of the A19 and A174.
