Lettmann Rocky XL

The best of both the Granate and Manta kayaks have been combined to create the Lettmann Rocky XL.

With the Rocky we created the perfect symbiosis of our two favorite Creekers. It combines the Granate’s stable and mild characteristics with the Manta’s modern features. The new Rocky’s stable hull combines high pace with a lost of control.

Beginners love that trying to reach the eddies, more advanced paddlers will worthship that while approaching the next waterfall.

The rounded edges won’t allow the rapids to push too hard and landings after high drops perform more smoothly. The high and volumenous bow allow a dry run even in the heaviest of rapids.

Combined with its fat rocker the Rocky will emerge dry and smoothly after every heavy drop – making sure you’re the one in charge!

Alpkit Manta Review

I’m a big fan of Alpkit and the kit they produce. Who knows how many Alpkit stuff sacks and dry bags I own! However they do produce so much more. The boys and girls at Alpkit have kindly sent a Manta headtorch over for me to check out.

The timing on this is excellent as it arrived (lovingly packaged) just in time for an overnight bikepacking trip.

The headlamp was packed away in my camelback until I was at my overnight camp. I used the red LEDs for light to maintain my night vision. The coverage by these small red lights was superb and I could easily move around camp without doing myself a mischief.
