Norway Day 7 & 8

The past few days have been fairly warm here which would probably explain why the Upper Brandseth came in yesterday morning. We started the day by paddling that. Its definitely one of my favourite runs, with lots of steep fast slides. We were off by lunch time and spent the afternoon chilling in Voss with Rainey next to the lake and then at the pub.

THE ALL NEW ROCKSTAR!

Simply our best hull design yet! Built shorter, lighter and aimed towards ease of use, comfort and skills progression, the NEW Rockstar is the new standard. EJ and Dave Knight have reshaped its hull to perform with better balance, responsiveness and with easier edging and carving power! Our new ergonomic design, stiffer make, enhanced hull support and customizable outfitting gives paddlers a much more comfortable paddle position, takes advantage of body strengths, lends to a stronger body/boat interface and provides an easier roll. Two Weeks In Italy – Week One

Not to sure how I actually ended up going on this trip, I think it was that I just asked Mark if he knew anyone going to Italy as I would like to go this year and he happened to be going so it went from there really…

Having knew Mark and Dave for a year I had only actually paddled with them a few times and never paddled with Russell and only met him a few week before our trip. I could tell this was going to be a good trip.

Norway – Day 6

Today has been a bit of a rest day. Phil and Barney had a run on the Lower Myrkdal and then Phil and myself paddled the Stranda. We visited Rainey at home who has stitches in his eyebrow and bruised muscles in his shoulder after yesterdays incident. He should be good to get back on the water some time next week.

Norway – Day 5

Today has been eventful. I’ll begin at last night when Rainey made a bold claim that he would attempt a kickflip off of Moneydrop on the Stranda. This soon trended on Facebook thanks to Sam Ellis and the peer pressure began to build. Anyway we met up with Rainey this morning to find that he had come to a compromise with his growing fanbase and would be running Moneydrop fully naked in his playboat later in the day.

First off though we headed to the lower Myrkdal for our second run this trip. It was similar flows to yesterday but this time a little less nerve racking as we knew the lines. It was all going so well, the sun was out and we were all loving it.

Beyond the Drop – Pro Kayaking Video Presented By Teva

Six pro kayakers from around the world meet up in the rainforests of Southern Mexico to run the Rio Tulijá. Also known as the Agua Azul, the river features impossibly blue water and a series of five large waterfalls. Led by Rafa Ortiz, the kayak team, including Rush Sturges, Evan Garcia, Aniol Serrasolses, Martina Wegman and Casper Van Kalmthout, have fun exploring the river and the local culture, showing us that when it comes to running waterfalls there’s a lot more to it than just the drop.
