Picked up one of these today – SP POV Carry Case for GoPro HD. It looks pretty good and fairly compact.

I have been able to try a GoPro LCD BacPac for the last few weeks and it certainly has its advantages in certain conditions. If you are on the bank and filming then I think the LCD is a pretty good accessory to own. Or if the camera is used as a digital stills camera then I can also see that LCD BacPac has its place for framing pictures etc. However, if your GoPro spends most of its time on top of your lid then I don’t think that it would be a wise investment.
I have recently bought the wifi BacPac which promises to be able to stream live action from the camera directly to an iPhone or iPad. If the app is released soon I can’t personally see the need for the LCD BacPac.
I usually wear my GoPro attached to my Sweet Strutter helmet. The curvature of the helmet doesn’t quite match the profile of the curved GoPro mount. So although the mount is secure there is a pretty good chance that a hit will knock it clean off. I have therefore installed a leash system.
There are a number of arguments for and against attaching the camera with a leash. Most of the against centre around the risk of snagging. At the end of the day I have thought carefully about the pros and cons and have decided that I will use a leash.
My new Wi-Fi BacPacTM + Wi-Fi Remote arrived today. Probably one of the first in the UK to be out/about and on the web.
Here’s some info from the GoPro site:
The Wi-Fi Combo Kit enables remote control, live preview and playback on smartphones and tablets, live streaming to the web, and more. The Wi-Fi Combo Kit is compatible with HD HERO2 and Original HD HERO cameras.
To start with here are a few images of the BacPac during its unpack.
I have a few GoPro walkthroughs left. The walkthrough is a essentially a large sticker with the key menu items/features of the GoPro HD model printed on it.
When I outlined my current GoPro setup a few weeks ago I highlighted the fact that I wasn’t 100% convinced that the GoPro Anti-Fog Inserts would work.
I have been using at least one GoPro HD Hero2 for the last 8 months. Without a doubt the cameras represents a step up in terms of picture quality and ease of use. Video is filmed at full 1080p and the camera now boasts the capability of taking stills at 11 mega pixels.
The HD Hero2 is billed as being ‘2x more powerful in everyway’ and that it gives ‘Professional power to the people’. The Hero2 retains the same overall design and size of the previous 960p and 1080p models. The big difference is what lies inside.
Over the last few months a couple of these GoPro accessory rolls have been put together. The idea is to have all of your bits and bobs together in one easy to get to and well organised package. The one shown below (MKII) is made from Cordura and is designed to hold a Gorillapod, a screwdriver, a spare Wasabi battery
and SD cards stored in an aLoksak waterproof storage bag.
My GoPro Hero 2 arrived today. It’s joined my now growing collection of GoPro cameras.
The aim over the next few weeks is to try a few multiple angle shots from multiple cameras. The suction cup mount is definitely a great resource to have.
My current GoPro Setup.
The final bit of outfitting for my new Pyranha Jed was a GoPro guide sticker.
Some really nice mounting options for the GoPro cameras are shown in this GoPro promo.
