The Mamba from Dagger has been around since 2005 and has become a firm favourite with paddlers at all levels. Over the last couple of years Dagger’s designers and test paddlers have been working on making the Mamba even better, the result has been some major design changes that have brought the Mamba bang up to date. In many senses the 2013 Mamba is a completely new boat.

I found this within the Unsponsored archives and thought it might be of interest. Before the changes to the Tees Barrage Whitewater course this is what the course was like. It was so long ago I had forgotten that there even was an island river left at the top of the course! Enjoy.

A sunny but cold day on the water at the Tees Barrage. The more focussed weekend opening times (10am – 1pm) has definitely concentrated the number of paddlers on the water into a narrower time frame which is great for the spectators.
Hot on the heals of the Tyne Tour, the Tees Tour was a much smaller grassroots Uni event held last weekend. Paddlers from Newcastle University, Durham University, Teesside University, Leeds University and others gathered in the market town of Barnard Castle for a weekend of paddling.
A few images from today. If you are in any of the images and would like a full size copy please drop me an email or contact me through the site.
After work this AM I called in at the Tees Barrage as I knew that a number of the River Militia boys would be on the water. Unfortunately the battery in my Lumix GX1
was dead, so I turned to my iPhone. The still image and video quality from the 4s turned out to be pretty good.
Enjoyed a bit of non-kayaking action today in the form of the Stockton Cycling Festival. We didn’t have to travel very far (5m from the Sofa) to get right in front of the action.
The prices to use the WW course have now dropped from £15 to £6 🙂 Opening times have been reduced 🙁
Tees Barrage International White Water Centre offers some of the best facilities in Europe. Our paddling prices are the cheapest in the UK priced at just £6.00 per session. The £6.00 fee covers you for as long as you wish to paddle on that given day and gives great value for money on each visit.
“Normal Operating Times” are as follows:
Wednesdays 4pm – 8pm
Saturdays 10am – 5pm
Sundays 10am – 5pm
Please note: Always check our course timetable for water releases as these will vary and more will be added to the core times on a week by week basis.
Great afternoon at the Tees Barrage today. The adjustments to the course are starting to deliver some very promising features.
