Unsponsored has had a presence on Facebook for just a short while and has almost 1500 likes.
It would be awesome to hit the 1500 by the end of this weekend.
Many thanks for the continued support.
My new Wavesport Recon 93 landed today.
Since the re-launch of Unsponsored I have uploaded 500 posts to the site (this is #500).
It’s been great to see the enthusiasm for the site grow in both myself and in all of the visitors out there. Ten of thousands of unique visitors stop by the site on a daily basis and that figure is growing month by month. THANKYOU!
There are a number of developments in the pipeline over the next few weeks and into the New Year. I have some kit about to land very shortly including a Contour Roam, plus a pile of other on/off the water kit. A number of long term review updates are well over due and the 2013 Q&A Series will be starting 2013 with a bang.
Thanks Again and Stay Safe.

I had the pleasure of being the first person (probably) in the UK to paddle the new Wavesport Recon. I had seen the boat a couple of weeks ago and had arranged to hook up with Tom at the Tees Barrage for an evening paddle. The Tees Barrage has always been a great place for me to check out boats as its been my local paddle spot since the day it opened way back in the last century.
The boat I paddled is a Wavesport Recon 83 and is a final prototype, so apart from the quality of the plastic finish in a couple of areas it is the same as the final production model. Continue reading
Bren Orton has broken into the world freestyle scene over the last couple of years with some superb moves and cracking scores. From conversations I have had with mutual friends it is clear that Bren is fully committed to his paddling and being the best he can possibly be. I reckon that Bren is well on his way to being one of the best freestyle paddlers in the world. It is therefore a great honour to have Bren take part in the Unsponsored 2012 Q&A series.
Tell us a little a bit about you accomplishments in the kayaking world.
I’m still young and relatively new to the kayaking world with much still to learn. My accomplishments that mean something to me are being ranked 3rd in the world, becoming Junior European champion and running Hypoxia.
A few shots of Unsponsored stickers in use.
You’ve probably read many cag reviews where the user has just recieved a spanking new cag, taken it off down to the water and had the driest/warmest kayaking experience ever!
Therefore I have waited a number of weeks and have paddled for many hours wearing the Immersion Research Full Conditions Cag and yes its been the driest/warmest kayaking experience ever! but seriously here’s what I think;
Construction is pretty good, evidence of this can be seen clearly when you check the inside of the cag out. The taping is a master piece, no skimping here. Nice wide tape well secured!
James ‘Pringle’ Bebbington – 6 time GBR Freestyle Kayak team member, British Champion, World Champion, World Cup Champion and European Silver medalist. James is truly one of the stars of the freestyle world.
I was chuffed to bits when I found out that James had agreed to take part in the 2011 Unsponsored Q&A series.
